Dr. Alfred Furtado, a board-certified chiropractic physician and maintains an active clinical practice in Guilford and Pawcatuck, CT.
Dr. Furtado treats a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions involving the spine, pelvis, and extremities, as well as acute and overuse sports injuries. He has extensive experience working with weightlifting and functional fitness athletes and understands the specific movement patterns, stressors, and injuries common within functional fitness. He works with athletes across the full performance spectrum—from beginners to elite, world-class competitors.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Furtado founded and previously directed CrossFit Stonington in Stonington, CT for eight years. He is an expert in functional exercise, movement assessment, and fitness-based programming. His combined clinical and coaching experience allows him to help patients not only return to their baseline, but often surpass their previous level of performance.
